Care and Cleaning

We consistently strive to provide you with the highest quality products possible that will last to keep you safe for years and years to come. In order to maintain the quality of your unique self-protection accessories, please follow the below guidelines in the care and keeping of your individual Artemis products.

Jewelry:

Our jewelry is made with a base metal of stainless steel. The quality of stainless-steel allows for high durability and effectiveness during self-defense use. The properties of stainless steel prevent corrosion or rust, however, it can be susceptible to scratches and staining. Because of this, we suggest the following simple guidelines to help maintain the condition of your stainless-steel jewelry.

Cleaning

  1. Using warm water and mild dish-washing soap, wash your jewelry with a soft, lint free cloth (using this type of cloth helps prevent scratches, especially on gemstones) until the piece is nice and clean. When cleaning, try to rub your cloth in the direction of the polish lines to maintain the polished quality of your jewelry.
  2. If your jewelry piece is especially dirty, you may use a light amount of non-whitening toothpaste (ensure you do not use a gel toothpaste or that the paste does not contain silica) to scrub out the grimy areas.
  3. Using a clean, damp cloth, wipe the remaining soap residue from your jewelry.
  4. Dry your jewelry piece with a fresh, dry cloth and allow it to sit and air dry.
  5. Once your jewelry piece is fully dry, you can use a jewelry polishing cloth to restore the shine and polish to your piece.

Storing

Although the perks of stainless steel include not tarnishing or corroding, it can be liable to scratch. In order to prevent this, we recommend that you store your jewelry away from any jewelry pieces of dissimilar metal type. As an additional barrier of protection, you should store your jewelry piece in its own individual bag or pouch.

If your jewelry does get scratched, you can always visit a professional jeweler to have it polished back to its original shine.

If for whatever reason you believe that your jewelry piece is abnormally deteriorating or does not meet your standard of quality, please do not hesitate to contact us at contact@theartemiscompany.org. Your safety and satisfaction is, and will always be, our #1 mission.
